Hi

I have a 30g breeding tank with a pair in it (they didn't spawn yet) and i was wondering if it's possible to raise the fry in it. I mean, i would move the parents back to the community tank at the proper time, instead of moving the fry.
It's a bare bottom tank with sponge filter. I don't really have room for a grow out tank so i wouldn't buy one if it isn't essential.

czdomi,

It really depends how many fry you have in the spawn. If you had around 40 it would be fine for the first 1-2 months but after that you would need to split the group in two or move them to a larger tank. I would also consider adding additional filtration if the tank is that small.

You could also use a combination of heavy culling and selling, provided there is a market for your fry. You'd have to do this to a lesser extent anyways unless you have growout space to spare.
