Hi guys I recently set up my 60 gallon tank. I washed my gravel through but when I filled my tank up the water went White cloudy and still is after 4 days but has cleared up a bit . My question is I think I may of not washed my sand through enough and was wondering how to sort this out without really emptying the tank?

You can use Marineland Magnum to polish the water.

You mentioned gravel, but then said "sand" at the end of your post. It also sounds like it went cloudy as you filled it with water. If that's the case, and it was sand you used, then it's most likely due to not washing the sand well enough. Most sand has a lot of free floating silt that will cloud the water instantly. I washed mine many times before putting it in the tank, and the water still was slightly "milky". I ran the water through a hepa filter (Just cut a piece of it from a vacuum cleaner bag, and placed it in front of the filter insert in my HOB filter. After 2 days the water was crystal clear. You could see the silt deposit on the filter.

Any type of micron filter pad or sock placed in the filter or outflow will trap the fine particles. It will probably clear up on it's own after a few large water changes as well.
