I am looking for a good accurate tes kit for chloramine and chlorine. Any suggestion ? My local water company told me that the tap water has 2 ppm chloramine. I am using a carbon filter to treat the tap water. My fishes seems to be fine. I just want to know the chloramine and chlorine level after the filtration.

Hi

Its a good idea to test for chlorine not many people do and i suspect it has led to many unexplained deaths or bouts with sickness.

I get my kits from the filter guys, they are made specifically for aquarium use.
The syptoms of chlorine/chloramine exposure are darting and labored breathing clamped fins.

Tis the pool season and there are chlorine test kits at the local Walmart for cheap. I also use carbon block and a .5 micron filter and it tests 0 for chlorine but I still use Safe at each water change.

I use DPD tabs found at any local pool supply. However, others have claimed success with the strips.

Chlorine test kit from Charles Harrison. see:

for details. A lot of bang for the buck - works as it should.
