Looks like I am going to have to break down and purchase an RO filter.. There is a lot of choice out there.. Any suggestions on brands.. etc. ? Which ones have you had best luck with , which ones to totally avoid?
Look forward to your advice.
thanks

I guess one of the things I wanted to know was how much water will it take to make 50 gallons of RO water,, I will have to save and pump this water out of my fish room, I have no idea the ration of good to bad water there will be.

Buy a tds and ph pen while your at it, you cant guess at it.
Its important to keep your water stable so without those 2 your just guessing.

If you pick up an Air, Water & Ice Typhoon III Extreme from Dan it comes with a handheld TDS meter. Nice unit that really puts out the water. 3 to 1 is the stock safe answer on waste water to RO, but my unit is running closer to 2 to 1 I'd say.
