Surface feedeing

Will discus eat pellets/flakes at the surface of the water?

Mine will eat flakes off the top of the water. They do however prefer it after it sinks.

Mine are the same, they'll eat off the top, but prefer it when it sinks so they can scoot along the sand, puffing out water to stir the bits up and then snatching them into their mouths.

But yep, first thing in the morning when they're really hungry they fly to the surface and grab lots of flakes. The rest of the day they just patiently wait till it sinks. LOL

Mine will only eat fdbw from the surface. Otherwise, food has to drop a bit.
