hi all,

i know this question is sill but i have to ask. How often should i change water for my young adult? i have 4 of them in a 55 gallon tank, two are 4" and the other 2 are 5". at the moment im doing 30-40% WC daily. i do want them to grow to their full potential.
I know 4 discus is not enough for a group but once i upgrade my tank i'll get more.

eric

If you want them to grow to full potential put them in a 75 gallon the extra width will help out alot. IMO your water changing routine is fine, growth depends both on WCs and quality food. How often are your feeding and what?

I have 8 adult discus from 5 to 6 inch and I do 3 water changes per week with a varied nutritional diet - I have had no problems with them - excellent color - healthy - growing

this won't help

I would have considered getting one or even two more. With daily w/c's they would be fine even in a 55! Also make sure the water params are ok (no ammonia or nitrite).
