Looking into order a few of these in the 6500k pure white, but wanted to see if anyone has experience with them first. I figure if nothing else if I do not like them I can use them outside.

Just ask the company what type of led's they have and where they are made that should tell you how good they are as long as you google the led and do your reasearch before you buy it, I only know that that bridgelux and cree are good but that's all I know on brands but let us know what it is but it should be good, looks very simular to a chinese brand that I know but they have good quality led's if so just go straight to the source and order for cheaper lol

I've been using them for a while. Check out my long thread here: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?389764-LED-lighting-what-are-my-options&highlight=

I'm not a light guy, but I think people are going to need to know what you're requirements are (is this for a DT, planted, what?).

Also,
Google Bar - Convert 240 mm to inches
240 millimeters = 9.4488189 inches

That's wide. I'm not sure, but you wouldn't be able to fit a lot of those on a tank (about 4-5 on a 4ft tank, 55G, 75G, 90G). So not ideal for planted tanks.

I think the floodlight portion of that comes from the reflector, so you're paying extra on hardware if you don't need the reflector or have another DIY method of obtaining the same effect. I think you can pick up that LED for $30-40 if you're a DIYer and willing to wire it up yourself.

You wouldn't want more than 1-2 of those 30w lights over almost any tank. They are REALLY bright.

Here's the 30w over a tank. It's another member on here, can't remember which thread, but I had saved the pics.

That looks nice! The solo light looks like natural sunlight.

Very nice. Yeah this would be for my 180 planted mostly medium to lower lighting plants. Right now I am running 4x standard fluorescents 48 inches staggered and 2 t5's staggered at 48 inches iver my tank so i am thinkning three or four of these supplemented with the T5's should be ok. I have seen some other people's tanks that use them and the pics look very bright but you know pics sometimes can be deceiving. A DIY unit for my size tank would be pretty pricey and I am not that great at electrical work but I thought for the money I may give four of these a shot. The company I posted only let's you order in lots of two so if I only wanted three I could use the other one outside.

Jcardona1 do you know what size tank that is in the picture with the one 30 watts? Thanks for the link to your thread, I will take a look a it now.
