Two of the beautifull l plecos were given a scientific name. First one is gold nugget pleco, known by the numbers l18 (juvenile), l85 adult; also as a local variant irriri gold nugget pleco, l 177. It is now called Baryancistrus xanthellus.
The mango pleco, known as l47 is now Baryancistrus chrysolomus.
The paper is very informative regarding the different colour stages of both species and their habitat and diet preference.
