Hey guys, I see some threads get a lot less attention than others. I'm curious to know how other members view the forum. Do you all just click on the "what's new" tab or do you go to a particular section of the forum that interests you?

I view myself as the thread killer, every time I either post or make a thread no one answers, unless skips comes over, it's like when at a party every one is in a group laughing and talking then someone joins the group and dead silence.

I'm subscribed to these forums: General Discus Discussion, Planted/Show Tanks and Biotopes, Hobbyist Breeders' Fry for Sale, and Buy, Sell, and Trade.

I then subscribed to threads from the forums above. :) I typically subscribe to forums I comment in to see what other people have to say.

I first click on "Settings" to view any new comments to threads that I am subscribed to. I then click on "New Post" and look for thread titles that interest me.

I know the feeling I think 99% of the time I post on a thread it just goes unnoticed. I have seen were I have posted to someones question even gave the solution they were looking for no reply. Then later on someone else comes along and gives the same answer and they get commented on. Makes me think my posts are invisible. Or you start a thread and you might get 5 replies. Or you see someone come on here that has less experince with discus then you and they get more feedback on threads them you. Maybe we are just borring or something oh well just keep on trying I guess.

I go to each section, read the thread title, click on it. If I am interested, I read it, if not, I move on.

Interesting ShinShin. Why do you do that instead of "What's New?"?

I just keep hitting "New Posts" until there isn't anything new, then go to my favorite sections one by one. By the time I am through with those, something new post has popped up...

If you guys want to see your thread get a lot of posts, start one that is controversial. They will either be tons of back and forth, or it'll get locked! :D

Funny I have tried twice and I guess the subject was touchy so it was like taboo no one wanted to go near it.

LOL! Good point. If too taboo, people could have a fear of being banned, or viewed as weird.

Dan,

Don't know. Maybe old habit. Sometimes it may be a time thing and I don't look at it all on a thread and come back another day. Maybe I'll branch out and try something new. Never too old to learn, they say. I'm not convinced of that, though.

I tend to use New Posts and the first thing I look at are threads with the green arrow indicating I've posted to it. Then depending on how much time I have I scan for threads started by those I PM with, those with titles that peak my interest, or threads I think I can be of help to someone (especially if they've had few or no few responses already).

It's different now since I started using my phone. Mostly new posts, then to some of my favorite sections.
