Hi All,

I have a 55 gallon tank w/ 8 small discus. Since frequent water changes are a must, I would like to cut down on the amount times I have to wipe the inside of the tank.

I was thinking of a apple snail to help with that part. Anyone has used a apple snail or another type of snail to do the inside cleaning of the tank?

Any replies would help

Thanks

I have no idea if they are good or bad but I had 4 in my tank once before. Not sure what happened but they all died very sudden. I believe (correct me if I am wrong) but someone told me apple snails prefer cooler water maybe mid to upper 70's and at that time I had my tank temp at 86. I have two blue phantom plecos now and they are doing a great job at keeping things clean.
