Names for my discus?

This thread got deleted on friday due to forum restoration. Anyways, like the title suggests, I have 4 fish that are unnamed and need weird names, but not too weird. Like something unique. Maybe bluegill or something. So here are the types of the four fish:


Marlboro red

Flachen SS

Pigeon Blood red

Red turquoise

These fish are all about 3 inches, and I got them from Hans. Any suggestions would be appretiated ^^

I'm new to discus, so I can't help with technical issues yet. I'm confident I can handle name suggestions though! lol

Another case of my pet peeve, anthromorphism......ugh!...names, feelings, thoughts..yeah, right....you can fillet them and put them back in the water and watch them swim away!(no sir, mister game warden, I'd never do that to any pike!)..they're 'fish'......

What I truly appreciate about this forum is the incredible amount of information and experience present in these threads. You can't find this type of information and attention to detail anywhere else. So this place is good "place" for Walan to be. He's been getting and hopefully taking, great advice from others. If, by naming his fish, he becomes more devoted to them and does water changes daily for 3 weeks, then let him name his fish. Let's give him some rockin' names!

I named every fish I've ever kept; my betta, my mollies, platies, african cichlids, and even goldfish. Why not discus? I like the name bubbles, im gonna name the Flachen SS bubbles because he reminds me of bubbles. OK, three to go ^^ And now I am currently doing 60% water changes every 4 days. And I bet Hans loved the forum about personal experiences about him. I think it'll help his business, even if my intention on posting on that was to ask for pictures :P I might name the pigeon blood skittles, LOL

We just went to PetSmart and got an Amazon Sword. I like those, and I checked if they were compatible with discus. They were. The discus are getting used to this "freakishly large green thing". And we got an AquaClear filter sponge, which was EXACTLY what I was looking for. I need the beneficial bacteria. Well my fish need it. Anyways, every fish is still alive, everything is great so far ^^

Well, I do name my dogs, as they are pets, medium sized brain, Pavlov's dog's,etc..But, compared to other parts of this planet, I don't eat dogs or cats, but I do eat fish, and I know factually that they haven't much of a brain, and function on pure instinct.Like I said, 'they're just fish'.....HTH, Gary

I just had a discus baby from a batch die . Went out in the pouring rain dug a deep hole found a pinewood box laid it's stiff little body in it brought out it's mom and dad in a bucket said a few words for it and finally let go threw the dirt over it . It's mom and dad didn't even seem to care. Didn't even get a chance to name it yet.

I have couple named fish, my Yoyo loaches (skip, hoonook, & collage) pearl gouriomi (Nubia), and a discus. I named the discus "pulcher terrore" Latin for handsome terror. I find if there's a word that describes the personality I'll find a cool way to say it in other languages.
