They haven't got it right in six attempts. They aren't old enough/doing it right or the heater is cooking the eggs...:D

The eggs do turn brown in a day or so but the next day they eat them.

how big and old are they?

I got them in February and they were listed as 4" for the PB and 2.5 for the Turq. They are now both around 5". I don't know the age but I'd have to guess under one year old.

mine just spawned on sunday, they both did great job, but i guess the male doesnt know how to fertilize the eggs or he's just too young. they are around 5" aswell and are about 7 months old. all the eggs turned white now but instead of making them a snack they still guard them.
