One of my pair laid eggs when only 8 babies survived from last batch. They were attached and the pair laid eggs with them. After 2 days, right before the eggs were about to hatch, the pair ate them. So i move my babies now if that happens with that pair. It happens as John Nathan told me if there are less then 15 babies to take care off, then the pairs dont bother raising this small batch.

Pretty cool, one of these times they are going to get a huge spawn and be content.

How many do you think are on the parents?

Only 8 Sean. But this morning the count is (2). I guess it wasn't enough for them to bother so they are concerned about the eggs now. :(

Well hello captain! Yes it is but I have another batch (over 100) that I am feeding BBS to so that wasn't going to be a problem. But it's to late now, they ate them today so there are non left. Dangit! Makes me think if she lays eggs again while they have fry attached I'll take the slate out and give them to a foster pair. But you are right, with only that many I think I'd be wasting a lot of BBS.
