Hi and welcome to SD. Where are you located? I am in Huntington. I am not a breeder but can help you get started.

I know Valley Stream. To the best of my knowledge, there are no reputable breeders in Suffolk. I get my stock from Kenny, Hans and M. Beals but the shipping cost can add up quickly. Are you going bare bottom or planted? Have you kept discus before? 55G is a good starting size tank

I would go with at least 4.5" discus 5-6 would work fine in your setting.

Look at the sponsors on SD and read all the reviewes. Can't go wrong with any of them.

I just bought 19 Discus ranging from 2.5"-3" from Hans. Shipping was $38 next day. I am in Eastern Suffolk. It is not expensive at all and well worth it.
