150 Gallon tank (6 foot long).
300w Abu Jager.
Fluval FX5.
4 x 32 watt flourescent bulbs.
1 Black Angel Fish
1 Ram
9 Cardinals
6 Rummy Nose
1 Pleco
9 Discus (2 Flechen, 1 Wild X, 1 leopard, 6 Turq's)
Discus are 5-6 inches, except for 3 which are in the 3-4 inch range.
I have had this tank for years with various fishes, it was south american previously. In september i removed some angels and other cichlids and added discus. The discus have been added in 2 groups during the first week of September (2011). To date the 2 largest turq's have spawned twice, it seems the male of that pair is always defending the female from another large male.
The plants are doing ok (most have been in there for months).
I keep temp between 83-85 degrees and feed primarily frozen blood worms and freeze dried blackworms. The longer i watch the discus, the less plants I want, they seem so much nicer over the bare spots of the tank.
I need to get better pics as the fish look better in person.
