HI all,

Recently we had a very successful auction that was done by one of our sponsor's Barb of Delightful Designs Discus Cones (thanks again Barb and bidders!):) .

Latter today I will be posting another auction...This one is one that was organized by two of our members Here with the help of one of our sponsors.. Kenny'sDiscus. Its for a group of discus with shipping included to all points USA. I really want to call attention to the members, Larry AKA " jaykne" and John aka "Johnnathan ".. Larry is a moderator here, and John is one of our Homesteaders. Together they came up with the idea of donating a group of fish from Kenny's recent shipment to the forum and approached me about it. Kenny kindly hand picked a group of 6 each 3.5 -4" virgin red snakeskins for the auction. John also donated 3 cans of ocean nutrition prime reef Flakes (5.5 ounces each) to be included in the auction.

Over the years we have had some members that have stepped up and done something for the forum unasked...its a very humbling thing when that happens. These guys were not asked to do this...They wanted to do something for the forum...and initially they wanted to be anonymous ( I twisted their arms convincing them they should be recognized) so I may be embarrassing them right now :) but I really want to recognize them for their generosity. My sincere thanks Guys!!!!

I'll be posting the auction details this afternoon so that both east coast and west coast USA can start on equal grounds..It will only be for the USA for shipping purposes, but Canadians may bid, provided they can pick up fish on the USA side of the border at a fedex station.

This auction will be a bit different than past ones..:):):):):):):):):) talking with Larry yesterday we came up with what I think will be a fun one... These days money is tight all over, but I hope to see some strong support here. This is a perfect opportunity to get a great group of discus, shipping included and help the forum that is always there for you! Its a win win all around.

Okay...enough of that for now...look for the formal announcement and details latter today.

Best regards all,
and
THANK YOU LARRY,JOHN, and Kenny!

Hi Everyone,
Okay its auction time... heres how this works....We are auctioning off the entire group of 6 fish and the 3 cans of ocean nutrition and shipping all together. Highest bid gets all the fish, food and its shipped in the USA.

Heres what you need to do to bid...
1.You must Pm Larry here at Simply....user name " jaykne"

To pm him, click here (http://forum.simplydiscus.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=19005)....http://forum.simplydiscus.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=19005

2.Give him your name and bid amount....

3.watch this thread to see what the high bid is.****

****You will not know who is bidding what or how much they bid except at key points in the auction when we will post who is in the lead...this will occur everytime we reach an interval of $25..... For example... if the current high bid is $15 dollars, we will not post it, when it hits $25 we will.... and then again at $50....etc

4. Do not , I repeat do not bid in this thread....it will be deleted and invalid. You must PM Larry your bid.

5. This auction will run until Friday , Sept 23 at 2:00pm eastern std time. Payment in full needs to be made at the auction close.

If you have any questions, please ask before bidding..

Here are some pics of the snakeskins....you will get a group of 6 of these hand picked by Kenny, as well as the food and it includes shipping....Simply Amazing!!

There will only be one winner...so bid well and bid often!

The fish are from Kenny's current shipment from Forrest, they are at Kenny's and he feeds frozen blood worms while they are in QT before he sends them out, they are all in top condition and ready to be shipped out. I purchase all my fish from Kenny he is IMO the best Sponsor we have here at SimplyDiscus always high quality, healthy fish!!! Here is a link to this months shipment you can see on this thread the Virgin Red Snakeskins are in this shipment, other than that I believe he is sold out till next month. Kenny handpicked, and is holding 6 of the Virgin Red Snakeskins that we got for the auction!!! I myself purchased fish fish from this shipment got them in last week and they are now eating everything I give them.

From what I've read, the brown based red fish color more slowly, and add to that their 14 bar which is also a slower strain to color up. But in adulthood they should look stunning.

Hi to all Simply friends,

I would like to thank everyone who participated in this auction, and I must apologize that I was not able to be as involved as I would have liked to when this auction was first started...this past couple weeks my sister and I have been going through many medical tests to make sure she does not have the big "C" recurrence...we were very worrying at first but very fortunately all came back negative and well. So here I am LOL!

First I would like to thank Jim, Bill and everyone for your participation and generous contribution to our forum. It is members like you that makes Simply what is it. We sincerely thank you for your support!

Al, thank you so much for organizing this event and as you said this is no doubt for a great cause! Hope your forum continues to grow and shine my friend and keep up the excellent work!

Larry & John, thank you both so much for your contributions and effort my friends especially when I was busy with my sister's this past couple weeks...I want everyone here to know that Larry and Johnathan are the ones who thought of this idea and contributed the most among the 3 of us...I only prepare and ship fish! You two good-hearted people deserved a great round of applause from us!

Thank you and Congrats again Jim! Thank you for your call the other day, it was great talking with you. Your fish will be delivered to you this coming Fri as per our conversation. Because of your very generous contribution, I have no choice(j/k I had many choices lol) but to add 2 Alenquer X's 3.5-4" to your group of 6 Virgin Red Snakeskins 3.5-4" to make it a total of 8 fish for your winning bid. We hope you enjoy growing them out and all the best in breeding them to your current breeding stock when they are fully matured.:)

Thanks everyone again for your comments, they are very much appreciated!

Have a great week and i will follow up with photos when I get them settled in.

Thanks,

Because of your very generous contribution, I have no choice(j/k I had many choices lol) but to add 2 Alenquer X's 3.5-4" to your group of 6 Virgin Red Snakeskins 3.5-4" to make it a total of 8 fish for your winning bid.

what a man! My hats off to all of you!

Kenny,

First of all the important thing. I am really glad your sister is doing well. Family is always number one. Thank you very much for the additional fish. That was not expected but very much appreciated. I am very excited to get them later this week. I plumbed in the additional tanks this weekend and everything is all set. Have a great week and i will follow up with photos when I get them settled in.

Thanks,

Jim

I told you at the end of the auction Jim that since this is your first time to receive fish from Kenny you would be in for a big surprise and already are those Alenquer X's are really nice!!! But the real surprise is yet to come wait till you see the packing and condition they arrive in, I bet they will be begging for food as soon as you get them tanked up. Kenny is probably the best, and we are very lucky to have him as a Sponsor!!!

Just a quick update.. The auction actually raised $500! One of our members didn't have the room for 6 fish, but wanted to participate...so he just sent in the funds to make it $500. Thanks ADAM!! :)
