Hello everyone.. I have been keeping Aquarium for about 8 months.. I kept many fishes..
Yesterday i was having
2 White Sharks
6 Color Widow
2 Gold Fish

Then i exchanged some and now i have
2 Black Angel
2 Discus
2 Color Widow
2 Gold Fish

I like discus alot i have baby discus and i want to make them bigger and brighter... here is my aquarium picture (old picture)

In this u can see that which type of gravel filter etc i have and the size too
I need ur people help to grow and brighten my discus..

Behavior:
1)Sometimes discus goes and hide behind that decoration piece where its dark.. is this a normal act?
2) I think discus and gold are not compatible with each other.. when i was feeding them.. gold fish ate all i gave.. and when discus move towards top gold come and eat that too..

So i need help advices suggestions tutorials etc etc everything which can be helpfull :)
Thanks In Advance

Welcome to simply and here's a guide a fellow member put together. I would suggest not keeping goldfish with discus and it is generally recommended to keep in a group of no less then six like Skip suggests.

Lose the goldfish, and if it were me, I'd ditch all but the angels and discus...you can read via the search engine here for days, and learn almost anything you can imagine for the collective intellegence. Read up and enjoy...Gary

remove goldfish. if your tank is 55 or bigger get a total of 5-6 discus. water changes and 84 degree water. have fun.

Ok guyz thnx for suggestion. I ll get more of them and ll take gold fish out. And i have to take it out coz angel eats gold fish fins. My frnd told me that and after that i clearly observ that.
Now i need to ask one more thing. That discuss is not eating something. I have floating typ food. Which floats on water and discuss always stays near to gravels and do not come up to eat it. Any suggestion plz. I m really worried.

You could try presoaking the food in water so that it sinks when you add it to the tank.

I would even ditch the angels until the discus are big enough to keep the angels in line, I had to get rid of my angels bc they were picking on my Discus and getting more food.

discus feed mid water or bottom. you need to cater to them to keep them healthy. they require the extra love but are well worth it imho.

Not eating for a week can be normal for newly relocated fish..If it turns into two weeks, however, It's indicative of internal issues.. you'd best fill out this form and paste in the sickness page

besides the fact that they could be sick. if you want to get them to eat they will most likely eat live blackworms. high protein and it can get some needed nutrition into there system if your having issues. dont waste more time if your worried and there not eating. get them live blackworms and watch them eat. good luck. walt.
