On average are the people on this site measuring from nose to tail or actual body?

Most of the people here measure nose to the end of the tail(total length) but some sellers here sells discus actual body size.......imo buying discus inquire from the seller the actual size of the discus.

What would you call a good size for a discus?

These days i only consider buying 4 ins and above.......imo (1) shape first.....(2) pattern......(3) any defects eyes,gill plates,dorsal fins & anal fins.

I personally believe that males should average 5 + TL and females at least 4 +. Also remember that the hardest thing to find in a fish house is a tape measure.....

The ones i got in the link are 6ins and they are about 1year old
