hello,
i want to know the right thickness of the glasses for a breeding tank to be safe enough

depth 18''
high 18''

and if you have any suggestion about a good silicone that i can find at stores like homedepot or lowes

thanks:)

Most tanks that size are 3/16, 1/4, to 3/8 thickness depends if its a custom build. What you are describing is close enough to a 29 gallon high tank.

The silicone is GE silicone I at home depot.

if the op really wants that size.. get a custom from glasscages or somewhere else..

it might be cheaper in the long run and time wise..

I am anxious to see your results as you progress with your build. Possibly some pictures and how you joined all your pieces?

Petco still has the sale on in some areas until end of Oct.

First, 1/4" glass. Second, you want Momentive RTV 103 or 108 (Clear or Black) as your silicone adhesive. The Momentive RTV is an adhesive, not a sealer/caulk. And of course, it's close to a standard tank, buy, don't build.

Agree with Warlock, Unless you really need a specific size, buy a used one or "dollar per gallon" sale tank.
