Looking to get a decent amount of plants to go into my 60 gallon (soon to be) Discus tank. Just picked up this AquaticLife 2 Lamp T5 HO lighting fixture http://www.aquaticlife.com/products/277#1
at my LFS.

Hoping that with the combination of this light system, fluorite substrate and some low light plants I will have a pretty nice setup.
Any who, I was searching online to find a package of some plants that would go well in Discus tanks and wanted to see what you guys thought about this one:
http://www.aquatic-store.com/contents/en-us/p10337.html

Questions:
1. Are any of these plants going to need extra lighting that I don't have at the moment?
2. Require C02?
3. Does this look like a worth while investment for a beginning aquatic green thumb?
4. Anyone dealt with this vendor before?

Thanks!

I have bought plants from this place over the last 4 years. Heather is very knowledgeable, has plants that are in great condition and always throws in a few extras. Here's a link to her Discus plants. http://www.shop.plantedaquariumscentral.com/Discus-Warm-Water-Plants_c30.htmAll should do well with a good substrate, light and ferts.Jill

I would suggest anubias, java fern, and floating plants for your discus tank. Easy to care for, a little Flourish will be all you need, no fancy substrate or other nonsense, and you can spend your efforts instead looking after the fish. This is especially important if you are new to discus.

@jsweeten - thank you for the recommendation. I have come across that site before, but they did not have a "package" and I just clicked away lol I guess I was in a lazy mood and didnt want to piece together my own package :p I will look into their products and get ahold of Heather? Do you have her email address by chance?

@Darrell- thank you for your response as well. When you say floating plants, what kind would you recommend? And flourish is just in a bottle right? You use it every so often?

Thanks guys

Heather can be reached at sales@plantedaquariumscentral.com
Just tell her about your set up, etc. And she can make recommendations. She's very helpful. Good luck!

Water Lettuce, Amazon Frogbit, etc. Yes, SeaChem Flourish. You just use it after water changes.
