Yesterday i transferred my pair to community aquarium because thew where too stressed in breeding aquarium and they all day stay in corner and this morning i saw that they fin rot and i don't know how to help them and with what to medicate fish

Other discus pair bully them and i don't know what to do i tried with raising temperature to 31 Celsius and 50 % water change.

Ph 8.2
TDS 320 ppm
Temperature 28-30 Celsius

don't raise the temp. Lower it to 80F and do daily 100% water changes with 1 tbs of salt per 10 gallons. See how it trends for 5 days.

It'll all be well; that happens frequently between two tanks..Happened to me the other day with a pair of Rose Reds..Salt, but ease off on the worry..Gary

I agree, the fin rot is at an early stage. should recover just fine with a little extra TLC.

@ lane mechtel

What is TLC?

Could i use my 30 liter aquarium with no bio filter (i can add sponge air filter) for medication aquarium and move there sick discus and treat him with 1 tbs of salt (table salt - this salt what we use for cooking ? or some other kind of salt ?) on 30 liter water?

I watched this discus while i feed them and he is not eating any food other discus eat food normally

I have "sera mycopur" medication can i use that medication for this sick discus ?

by TLC I'm talking about tender loving care example. salt, lower temp or raise for protozoans, extra water changes. I would still use a sponge filter at least even if has no bio load. it will still catch particles and adjitate the water for oxygen. no bio is only OK if you do 2 or 3 water changes per day. But at this point I would keep him in the main tank and as recommended lower the temp slowly and add a little salt and extra water changes.

when you guys put aquarium salt in water is it best to use a container so it will disolve slower or do you just put it in tank? Also how ofter do you put it in? Just wanted to know and to clarify how it is used.

Thanks

seems his fish have cleared up..As for your Q, I dissolve it in water for sumpless tanks, and just toss it in the sump on others..I use solar salt, so it's always chunky...

solar salt and useing a container are great suggestions. I have only used salt a couple times, but I always measured it out and divided it by four and disolved one part every couple hours.I will use your suggestions next time I ever use it. thanks -lane

I just dump the salt in and let it dissolve. I've seen fish swim up and take a bite of salt and not get bothered. Loaches and catfish were fine too.
