Do you deworm on a regular basis, or only if there's a sign of problems? What do you use (especially if you don't have a microscope to determine exactly what you're fighting)?

Some people worm new fish as a precaution for future problems.

Search the website for worming, there's a hundred threads on it.

Once you read up on it post in the disease and meds section on your plans and available medications.

Some meds are flubendazole levamisole, prazipro and another for flagellates is metronidazole.

If your fish are eating and are growing, not skinny, I wouldn't worry about it.

I do think that everyone should have meds on hand for future problems though. It stinks to have to wait 4-10 days for a medication when you have a sick fish.
Other meds you can stock are meth blue , malachite green, quick cure, pottasium permanganate .

Just precautionary, it's really not a good idea to use meds on discus if it's not warranted. Especially if they don't have a disease a med is meant for.

A lot depends on the foods you feed. But I've wormed my fish routinely in the past and will again in the future. I use deworming flake from Angel Plus when I do deworm them and I do it like every 2-3 months.
