Jäger 250 waterproof?

On my jäger, it says do not submerge above this line... Yet I see photos of fully submerged jagers, are they actually water proof?

EHEIM Jager Heaters are fully submersible.

Mine are pretty old; was there a model that was not submersible? Like I said, it says pretty clearly not to submerse beyond a certain point on the black top part.

maybe you are reading it wrong, usually the line is where they have to be under if you want the top sticking out. I believe they have always been submersible. take a pic

Older Jagers will say do not submerge. It has something to do with not being tested in the US for it or something like that. But they were selling the same heaters in Germany at the same time as fully submergable heaters.

I have 3 300 watt in my sump/filter. They are all underwater. Two at an angle on the sides and one laying on the bottom.

JAGER heaters are fully submersible according to European standards. However because Jager heaters are now manufactured in Germany a new UL certificate must be issued for the “New” company. This new certificate must be issued to comply with the North American standards, until then the heater MUST be labeled as not submersible in North America.

As of July 30, 2009 all Eheim heater models have been UL certified in Canada, making them officially fully submersible.
