Adequate tank dimensions

These are current dimensions of my discus tank does it suffice for 5 discus with light planting?

Sounds like a 55g, adequate for the Discus...

not ideal but it will work aim for a bigger tank if possible

A 55 is fine for 5 discus but if you can get your hands on a 75g on craigslist for cheap it adds 6" to the width (48x18x21) which does not sound like much but makes a big difference for swimming space.
