Metronidazole/flagyl In Canada?

Hi all, do any of my fellow Canadian members know where I can get some Metro/Flagyl?

Dan at MOPS has them. You can also try your local vet. I got mine from the vet. Much cheaper.

I know seachem makes it, you can go on their website to see what stores in your area sell it. However, I would recommend not buying it, depending on the size of the tank you will be using it in. I picked up a vial (it was ~$12) and i only got 3 treatments out of it (80 gal tank). So, like you, I am looking for flagyl in canada!

You would be better of looking for a generic form of metronidazole. Flagyl is the brandname used for humans. Oddly enough, I picked up a prescription for my Mom about a week ago for this and it turned out that she didn't even need it, but after taking it for a few days, the side effects are not nice at all (sever intestinal pains, and other nasties) so I wonder how it makes the fish feel when they take it.

I eventually ended up feeding them some medicated food using "Hikari Metro+"

Just an FYI, the sponsor EliteAquaria on here sells a 100g tub (i believe) for $21, to compare that to the 5g vial of seachem that I paid $12 for.

also (in the usa) you can get 100g from angelsplus for $12 and from kensfish for $14,very affordable stuff

I buy mine from a user by the name of Sugerglidder on pricenetwork.ca he comes down to Hurontario and 401 area once a month to drop off orders. you can contact him his prices are metro 100 grams: $18.00 metro 500 grams: $70.00.

General Cure, which you can find at pretty much any pet store, is largely metronidazole (250 mg per package), with a little praziquantel (75 mg) thrown in.
