With today's technology and intelligence, why couldn't we have put a self destruct device in the Drone?

I hate to say it...but this is more than likely due to the thought that someone would hit the button at the wrong time or by mistake. Also remember these are built by the LOWEST bidder. So things like that are taken out to lower the cost. On a side note being a current military member....you can't do it if it makes sense.

They said on the news that it is programmed to destroy all data and photos it is carrying. But that they are more worried about them getting a hold of outer shell of the drone. Because it is made out of some top secret radar deflecting material.

How about dropping something on it to destroy it. Or you could always drop something in the area that would keep everyone away from it for say the half life of plutonium.

Agree 100%, just send another Drone and blow the whole thing up. Plutonium would work pretty good.

the damage is already done. whether they get it or not, they have succeeded in hurting "the great satan". plus, if we were really worried about it you wouldn't have heard about it. and finally, they aren't made by the lowest bidder, its the intelligence world with a 'black' budget. they generally get what they want. its for the regular military folks to get stuck with the lowest bidder. i was one of them regular folks for 20 years.

Sorry then. They do look like fun but with today's news about the drone being shot down I just took it the wrong way. My mistake, sir or lady.

Friends, which company is now producing high-quality drones?
What do you want to use the drone for? DJI is considered one of the better companies.
