Hello all,
I decided to share my return to planted aquaria. First, a little back ground. I started off with a high light high tech 40g years ago and it was a disaster. It was so bad so quickly that when I upgraded my tank size I went to fake plants and sand. The 40g was a disaster for my first try at Discus also. After some great times with Rainbows I decided to try Discus one more time. After a successful year I decided to try plants again. Tank information and pics are below.

Equipment:
AllGlass 125g with sump
Turface for substrate
Dosing excel at first to get plants established and then no ferts
2 X Coralife 96w power compacts 8 hours a day. Bulbs are AHSupply 2-6-12
Finnex 300w heater
Magdrive 900 gph pump
Manzanita from parents house and rocks from back yard

Flora:
Swords: Amazon, Dwarf, Radican, Ruben, Red Flame, Golden Melon, Ozelot
Crypts: wendi red, red giant, green, and bronze
Rotala
red Ludwiga
Red Tiger Lilly
Java fern: Normal, lace, and narrow leaf
Anubis: Nana, Barteri, Coffeefolia
Java Moss

Fauna
Discus: Blue Diamond, Checkerboard Pigeon, Penang Eruption, White Diamond, Turquoise
Two Sterbi Corys that have been around forever
Bushy Nosed Pleco: Albino longfin and gold spot

Bare tank with just Turface

If you don't mind me asking. What did you pay for that tank?

Great job. Plants are growing, water is clear and fish are happy (spawning). Life is good.

DLock3d. I bought it five years ago so my memory is a little fuzzy. I'm pretty sure it was ~$400 for an allglass pre-drilled 125. I don't think that was including the plumping kit and towers.

Northwood. Thank you. Hopefully I can keep life good.

Absolutely awesome! There are times I wish my tank had the option of built in overflows.
