I bought these guys from a local breeder back in April this year. These were my first discus back then. These guys were about 2" when i scooped them out of the tank. Never bothered asking which strain it is. 2 of them are about 6.5in to almost 7" and the other is some sort of leopard maybe? Anyone one want to take a guess?

I recently bought some cones from a sponsor and put it in the tank to see what would happen and as of this week, it looks like the heavy peppered pigeon has paired up with the bigger blue guy. The two of them chase everyone who swims near the cone. What ugly combo am i going to get if they decided to lay eggs? I am guessing some ugly peppered offspring. The pigeon is almost 6.5"

This is what the bunch looked like when i first put them in the tank.

Agreed with the others above. Blue scorpions/Blue SS by the looks of them, and a Turq in the third picture, though I might be inclined to call that a Blue Turq or Brilliant Turq rather then a Red Turq. Love the look of those though.

Thanks for all the inputs! I wish i asked the breeder so i can know for sure.

As i predicted, the big peppered pigeon laid eggs yesterday on the cone. I saw the protruding part on her belly going up the cone. A bunch of the eggs stuck and a few fell. But they were all eaten by the big blue guy that has been swimming with her. I am guessing and hoping the blue is a male. He has been shaking his head too at the cone and cleaning the cone. He is got to be close to 7in now. I am not trying to optimizing the condition of the tank for breeding as there are 4 other discus in the tank with these 2. I am just happy that i am doing somethings correct with these guys that i started out with. I am going to let them doing their thing a few more times before moving them to a 40 gal breeder for the next experiment.

If the first three came from the same tank, then you have acouple scorpion or Snakeskins and Prob. a turq. throwback.
Nice discus either way.

OK, she has been doing this for a few days now. The big blue guys are taking turns eating the fresh discus caviar. The pigeon is also eat them although not as fast. As fast as she is laying them, they are eating them. He also tries to push her out of the way of the cone like, don't lay anymore eggs. Here are some pics of the eggs that did manage to stay on the cone for more than 5sec.

Also, i took a pic of the 2 big blue guys swimming together. The peppered pigeon is the female laying the eggs.
