Hi all. Bleher often talks of symphysodon normally having 8 bars but some having 18 thin bars and much finer blue striations on their body. Can anyone give me any information like location etc on these fish and if possible some pucs. I cant afford blehers book at the moment.
Thanks in advance.
Tom

Hi Tom,
I have no idea what Blehr was referring to exactly and don't have his books myself...but there are many wild looking Domestics ( and non-wilding looking ones) with 14 Plus bars ..these are called snakeskins and besides the trait of extra bars they have finer patterns, and this can be very pronounced....hence the snakeskin.

You may want to look for references to Virgin Red snakeskins for wild looking ones.... Red snakeskins, blue snakeskins, leopard snakeskins would all be some of the more domestic looking ones.

best Regards,
