What are average ages for the following sizes of fish?

2.5 inch?
3 inch?
4 inch?
5 inch?
6 inch?

I'm just trying to figure out what size I want to buy and choose between $$ and length of time to adult fish.

Thanks

Depends on a lot of things I would think from genetics, water, water quality, food, temperature. Subscribed for some responses!!!!

Yeah, I'm going for "Hans Discus Stock," well kept, good quality water, food, etc.

I find this interesting as well. I bought 5 discus at the end of October. They were 2 to 2 1/2 inches at the time. They are now 4+ inches. I think their growth may have slowed a bit lately, we'll see. I do 2 water changes a day and feed them a lot. They are kept at 84 degrees. For a comparison, I was given a 2 1/2 inch discus quite a while ago before I really got into it and didn't follow the same regimen. That discus was in a 220 gallon tank which received 2 WC per week. That discus didn't grow at the same rate as these at all- very slowly. Interestingly enough though, his growth rate did take off once I started feeding FDBW which surprised me.
