Hi, I"m new to having discus. About 6 months ago I thought about getting some, did my research and came up with the fact that I didn't have any tanks large enough for them, and I"m not really in a position to put a new tank somewhere. I keep and breed Angels and GBRS, so not new to the hobby. Last week I was at the LFS picking up an order when an older gentleman came in. He had originally gotten 12 discus in a tank, had lost all but 2 of them. Tom (LFS guy) had him show us the tank and he pointed to a 20 long. This guy had been sold a bill of goods apparently and ended up with these poor discus. I traded him 20 of my long fin white clouds for the pair of discus.
I can't post pictures yet. Anyway these guys seem heavily peppered.
Are these guys stunted and I should stop setting up a bare bottom 29 to up there feeding them 5 times a day? There getting fed flakes, Baby Brine shrimp, freeze dried Bloodworms, freeze dried Tubefexworms. Or should I accept that I got them too late and try to keep them happy as is?
