Getting my discus tomorrow!

Hi all, I am super excited because tomorrow my discus from Kenny are going to arrive. I might sleep by the front door to make sure I hear the knocks. However, I am also a little nervous since I have never had discus before.

I received my discus today and they all look AMAZING. I am so glad that I bought my discus from Kenny.

Yesterday I fed frozen bloodworms as per Kenny's recommendation. Today I tried the FDBW but they are still afraid of my fingers. So, since they would not take them out of my fingers I let them float on the top and only the 2 blue Scorp/SS seemed to be able to find them. Guess I will have to stick with food that sinks for awhile. Lol.

Looking good! Congrats on your first Discus.

For FDBkW, I let the HOB push it down. Not a problem so long as you have a sponge pre-filter. If worms get sucked up, it stays at the surface and a Discus is quick to pick it off.

I prefer sinking foods, but feed fdbw IF they'll take them from my fingers. I'm sure they'll get braver soon - food is a great motivator!

Give them time to settle in. They will be fighting for food in no time. Once they are trained to eat off the top, nothing will escape them......Very nice group from Kenny
