i was thinkin about hanging a slice of zucchini in my tank for my plecos.

taking a piece of fishing string and a fishing weight to anchor down the zucchini

let me know what you think

Lots of people do this... just make sure you don't put so much that your plecos can't eat it fast enough. Usually, I've done this with vegetables that last at most two days before I remove it. Although if it's there for more than one day, I would probably scale back the next feeding so that it's gone by the next day. That's my opinion...

Temperature matters a little well for how long food lasts.

Instead of the fishing weight you may want to try an elastic band and a piece of slate or other rock...I've seen it done in others tanks, and tried it here..worked great!

i have a breeding pair and maybe 12 babys in the tank. i put in a quarter size piece of zucchini and they have not eaten too much of it. its been in there almost 24 hours now. was oging to pull it out and put in a new one. i also put a algae waffer in the tank every day. the neons i have in the tank seem to eat that more then the plecos do. this tank has been up for 2-3 weeks. the filters came from my discus tank so i know its cycled. i also put in a little flake for my ram and the neons.

not sure what i should be doing. i got all pleco around the same time. never bred them before. so im going off what i read online. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you blanch the zucc first?
I have found that my fish perfer cucumber to zucc but zucc is more nutritious.
Always remove from tank after 24 hrs (or sooner).
I put the veggies and algae wafers in just when the lights go out since my BN medusa only comes out at night.

You should blanch them, they sink better and are then soft enough to eat.

I just stick a fork in it and throw it in the tank.
