The final cost for 26 books ordered is: 10 discusbook 01 and 16 discubook 02 = 19,90 x 26 = 517,40 – 10% = 465,66 + 49,00 Shipping = 514,66 Euro which is $694.79 ($1.35 paypal rate today)

For each book, the cost is $26.72. Whether you ordered one book or two books, the shipping cost from VA to anywhere in US is $5.15 and to Canada is $12.95. I would collect extra to account for potential paypal charge for making a foreign transaction and variation in exchange rate.

Just placed the order. Unfortunately, the exchange rate went up to $1.37 from $1.308. Hopefully, what I collected will cover everything, but there is a chance that it may not. The total I paid was 809.57 euros which was $1060.53 basd on the initial estimate, but total ended up being $1,102.90. So, there is additional $42.37 for the order, but we may be able to cover it from the additional money collected. I will send out the detail after I get everyone's payment. Two payments are still pending.

Tell me about it. I guess I didn't learn my lesson from the first group order. That's why I collected more money from everyone. Why couldn't have the exchange rate gone down? :) To make it worse, paypal does charge higher exchange rate.

The books were shipped from Italy on 2-14. It takes anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks for the package to arrive. I think last time it took over two weeks. I will post here when I get the books.

By the way, while I was corresponding with Heiko about the books, he mentioned his expeditions to the Amazons. Here's the exchange (edited for the purpose of the topic). Anyways, I mentioned this to my wife and she goes "you should go." I am like "really?" Although my wife is not into fish, she fully supports my hobby. I am seriously considering going on one of the trips with Heiko. It would be cool and I may be featured in one of his future discusbooks. :-)

I go again on my yearly Amazon expeditions on September 1st., to the Putumayo (colelcting discus and other fishes in remote areas) and into the Claderón where ony 1878 the last time explored for fishes. Two expeditions each about 8 days plus flights.

The cost (except flights to and fro) for the first is 3000 Euro (very far aways long boat ride very expensive fule cost); the second Euro 2000 plus flights.

The books have arrived!!!! They were left in front of my house and I didn't see the package until I left for work this morning. I actually saw the package yesterday but I wasn't sure what it was. They came in a big green sack and it didn't even occurr at all that the package could have been the books. Anyhow this morning, I am thinking what is that and I looked closer and it was the package from Italy!!! Didn't even get to open the package as I had to leave for work. Anyhow, I am not sure if I can mail the books out tomorrow. Have a few things going on and I am traveling for work all week next week. I will keep you posted.

Quick update. I went to the post office yesterday and got the stuff I needed to ship everything out. I packaged everything up and was completing the shipping label (manually). Then I discovered not everyone sent me the address. So, I emailed/PM'd everyone for the address and got everyone's except one. I would like to wait to get everyon'e address so I make one trip to the post office, but if I don't get the last address today, I will mail everyone's books out tomorrow.

I have to fill out custom forms for shipping the books to Canada. Who knew?

Yes, as Mark said you are posting in an old thread from a previous book order. That being said, you do realize the current order was being shipped from Europe to US, then once received Yun is reshipping to the final destinations/buyers? I would respectfully suggest that the tone of your post was inappropriate and a little gratitude would have been a better approach. He could have just as easily ordered whatever book or books he wanted and done nothing for the rest of us. Instead he organized a group buy that saved everyone money and did do at the expense of his own time and effort.
