I recently picked up a few discus also and are doing the same thing yours are doing. slowly but surely they are getting used to their new surroundings.

First, Welcome to Simply!

How long have you had them? How many do you have? What's the size of the tank? Do you have pictures of the fish? There's just too many factors to answer a question like that without additional details.

need more fish 5-6 minimum people tend to stock max limits at 1 fish per 10 gal so u got room for up to 10 adults.any less than 5 they wont feel safe and the fighting/pecking order over time will start to kill off the weakest fish until u only have 1.

It's not at all unusual for discus, when introduced to new surroundings, to not eat for a few days, and to tend to shy away, hide out, and be skittish for periods of up to 3 weeks or more, until they get fully comfortable in their new environment, and your routines around the tank.
Could take even longer if there is very little activity around the tank for most of the lights-on period each day.

Yes you need more fish. Also leave your tank light off and turn on the room light. Jerry

Also the black background has to go. They will hide in it, turn dark and stress. Got to go. also if your tank bottom is black as well got to go Jerry

I'm new to discus as well, it took my first six two weeks to get it figured out. Now they are eating like pigs and they now have a pecking order.
