Experience with Penang or Super Eruption Discus

Hello all,

Do any of you have any experience breeding Penang or Super Eruption Discus? I have heard that they are a bit more challenging than other strains of discus. Thoughts?

My pair of Penangs aren't more challenging than other strains I breed (spotted fish, turqs).

Same as other strains, I think it depends more on where you get them.

It's funny IMO penangs tend to like a lower ph and TDS then others. They want to spawn in water they were born in. Just my opinion ............Josie

Who would you say is a reputable source for these fish? I am considering purchasing some.

Either Kenny Cheung or Mike Beals, both carry Penang and Super Eruption. They are both excellent. I both pretty much all my Penang and Super Eruption from Kenny.

Actually I got mine from Yim11, and I just ask him to place me in the waiting list for the next batch, they we're my best looking fish, right next to Nicholson Flachens

i read a bunch about spotted fish not breeding true as far as the spots go.can anyone breeding these confirm or deny this


What do you mean by bars?
the black vertical stress bars. 14bars = snakeskin 9bars = standard
