hard water and eggs

I have a pair getting real frisky and cleaning the filter intake tube,my problem is my water is an easy 8 ph so I know the eggs wont hatch.Can anyone give me any advice on rearing eggs or point me to the right threads on this subject?

You want to rear eggs? :grin: A ph of 8 shouldn't be a problem. My ph is 7.7 and I have lots of fry.

It is not the Ph ...it is the hardness that affects eggs and not all hardness is equal.

thanks for the correction,dont know what I was thinking(wasnt).my gh is 17! and my kh is 10!I can cut the "egg" water with ro, just wondering what water #s I should be shooting for.and how about gathering eggs(if I need to)
