I don't really want to spend $400 for driftwood for my new tank. Any cheap places to order from or places in nj? Or maybe some way to make driftwood

Might try Manzman, one of the sponsors here: http://forum.simplydiscus.com/forumdisplay.php?209-Manzman-%28Rafael-Mendoza%29-Beaumont-California

$400.00? Where did you find that?
What size aquarium do you have? I spent $52.61 for the Manzanita wood for my 125 gallon aquarium on this post.

Hope that helps,

Yup yup, the sponsor here on the forums can supply you with great manzanita driftwood for a lot less than $400!
I've also used http://www.manzanita.com/aqwood.htm to buy large stumps and large branches.

He IS great! I just bought two more pieces, one is huge for my display tank and the other is small and has graceful curves. Looks a lot like a breeding cone, only prettier and with two extra branches so my pair will have 3 good spots to lay eggs on. (they're picky lol)
