well, i decided i didn't like how the driftwood in my old tank setup was, so i opted for a cleaner, more natural setup for my discus. i didn't want to waste my plants, so they're still in the tank, but they look better like this regardless. i also covered my eco-complete with playsand, to limit the peppering on my discus. here are a few photos with the night floodlights on:

and for fun, a quick photo of my new tank for my latest addition to the family - a baby corn snake.

:bandana: Very nice. I think covering the eco-complete was a good move. "T"

As a keeper and breeder of corn snakes I would really reconsider that setup. It is a disaster waiting to happen

dp out of curiosity why is that?

i love the aquarium though either way, youve got a nice little set up there man.
im in the middle of moving my tanks into the biotope/hardscape side of things.
do you find its harder to clean with all the branches in there?

im also considering going the Japanese way of things, and creating a miniature scene in one of my smaller tanks.with branches sand and some moss.what type of sand do you have in there?my tanks have fish in them already so im concerned that the sand could harm them if i add it with out taking them out.any advice is appreciated.

If youre referring to the corn snake setup..
1. too hard to clean
2. too much humidity
3. to much maintenance
4. really too much to list,
- have a heat source
-have a water bowl
- have a hiding place or two
-use an easy to clean substrate or even newspaper or papertowels
