Dear Simplydiscus members,
Last month, I was approached by Johnnathan from John's Discus and his Supplier,Winson Lau ,with a very generous offer. They wanted to donate to the forum some very nice adult fish. These would be used to generate revenue for the board. Private contributions like this are important to forum and I was really grateful for the offer and think that John and Winson were extremely generous in this. Instead of auctioning the fish off to raise money for the forum we came up with a better idea. We decided to GIVE AWAY the fish... Thats right you heard me correct. WE are giving away these beautiful Adult Discus at no cost to the lucky winners. WE will do 2 main drawings... one for a group of 2 Adult Reds and one for a group of 3 spotted adults. Johnnathan and Winson will be giving these fish to the forum as part of our 10 year anniversary. Additionally, The forum is going to pay for shipping.. The Lucky winners will have absolutely no cost here. I wanted to do something special for the forum and Thanks to John and Winson I am able to do that! Thanks Guys!!! The way we will do this is a lottery, one ticket per registered member.There is no cost for your Ticket. When I say Free I mean FREE !!!!!The cutoff for registration to the forum was yesterday,April10. If you remember a little while back I made a plea to lurkers and unregistered guests to register...Now you know why!;) Due to the nature of shipping fish and customs John can't shipped to any other point but in the USA....he can however send these fish to a Fedex station to be held for pickup should one of our Canadian members wish to drive across the border and pickup the fish. Keep that in mind.

As for the rest of the world. I really wish I could ship you fish, but I can't. :( However, Aquaticsuppliers.com (http://aquaticsuppliers.com/Freeze-dried-foods_c2.htm) wants to join in the fun. I will personally be giving away a total of 1 kg of my Freeze Dried Australian Blackworms .:D:D:D:D:D These I will send out in 100 gram quantities to 10 lucky winners. :shocked2:They will have the choice of Loose or cubed... and they will be free, shipping included. I will post more details on how to obtain your ticket, and the drawing will be at the end of April. Most likely It will take place at the NEDA (North East Discus Association's Meeting) on April 28, If thats okay with the host, JimG.;)

If you are from an international location ( NON-USA location) and your number is drawn, you will automatically be assigned a prize of Freeze Dried Australian Blackworms. The exception is for our Canadian members that specifically asked to be included in the drawing for Fish. If you are Canadian and can pick up the fish on the US side of the border, you must let me know that....and I would suggest that you contact both Johnathan and Kraig to be sure that they can ship to a point close enough to you for you to get the fish should you win. Should you win and not be able to pick up the fish, the prize will be forfeited to the forum for assignment at its discretion. If you are Canadian, please be sure you can in fact pick up these these fish in the USA.

In the event there is some confusion, mix up problem,etc....I maintain the right to mediate it, solve it, dissolve it or what ever , and my decisions will be final. Additionally, We will do our best to make sure all prizes get to their respective winners, but we can not replace livestock should there be an issue with shipping and handling as these are unique fish and have been donated to the forum to give away.., nor can we guarantee international shipments of Fishfood as customs for each country are different. No item in this give away has any cash trade in value nor will we provide a cash equivalent to a prize under any circumstance. You understand and agree to this when you enter the drawing for these free prizes.

okay all... I have been asked how the numbers are drawn...


I bought a roll of tickets at staples... thats how they are numbered. I assign a ticket number to the person, copy their info to an excel spreadsheet, , write their name on the back of the ticket, rip it off the roll, and place in a bucket. On Sat we will literally draw tickets.


I've gone thru all these steps to minimize human error..by me... good I did too...I actually messed up on the first number I assigned...too many 6's and 9's. Folks listen up... Should I somehow mess up with the numbers... every time I assign a ticket I write the name of the person on the back of the ticket as a check.. so that will take precedence.
