Are the air pumps bad for plants? I heard that they could gas off my co2 (I have an injection).
Is that true?Do i need an air pump?
Thanks

An air pump will gass off the co2. Often people run air when the lights are off.

If you have a controller for you CO2 injection, you won't need an air pump. The controller will stop it from putting more CO2 into your tank once a designated ph is reached. If you're injecting CO2 by just dosing a given number of bubble per minute or such, then DEFINITELY you will need an airpump when the lights go out because when they are in the dark, plants consume O2 and release CO2. I lost almost an entire tank due to this about a year and a half ago when my pump failed at night. Most of my juvie red turks, cherry shrimp, tiger shrimp, sunkist shrimp, and a few blue turks jumped out of the tank. The ones that remained were all gasping at the top of the tank and luckily survived, but it was a costly mistake/accident.
