Discus colors

I have a couple of questions. Is there purple discus? Or has some purple in it? What is a very solid blue discus? thanks.

No purple discus. You can feed blue snakeskin type ALOT of red color enhancing foods and it will appear kind of purple. A very solid blue discus is a Blue Diamond.

i ve seen some improve blue diamond with reflective purple lately...quite interesting but breeder not releasing them yet.

Years ago Eric had a blue diamond pair that appeared to have purple faces, more of a sheen but really nice. Don't see that to often anymore, I liked it so glad you say some are out there Forrest.

An old Cobalt I had from Hans that had purple sheen. It's really all about light, a redder light is going to give you a more purple sheen on a blue fish. Beware of photoshop too.

This is as close as I've come to purple. More of a violet. He was this color in Han's tank when he came in. He was this color in the NADA 2012 tank and still this color in my tank. I have a female flachen SS that is not quite this color but as close as I have seen. Hoping the fry will come out with this coloring.
