Can you believe it? I thought discus made permanent pairs. But the juvenile discus that I've had in my tank for a year stole the male from the original pair. It's sad to see the original pair broken up. The new pair has been breeding and the male chases away his former female companion. I really don't like the pair they've made. I believe the juvenile is stunted in growth because I've had her for a year and she's about 6 inches. She hasn't turned into the brilliant colors her parents are. There's just a little bit of blue on her face and pink in her body. Will her true colors ever show through? If I break up the new pair what chance is there that the female will take back the unfaithful Mr. discus?

An affair is a human thing it does not apply to animals. Discus will swap partners at anytime.
