Help with discus potted tank

Hello again.I will get straight to the point.ATM i am having a low planted discus tank with very fine sand as substrate some vallisnerias and some microssorum pteropus inside.Not much of a planted tank but still....I see many ppl in here telling stories about young discus not growing out properly in panted tanks.I have a 60g tank with 2 canister filters (fluval g6 +205) which I keep very clean and doing 50% water change on daily basis.The problem is that 2 of my discus are young and still growing.I have grew the others in a BB tank with 100% daily but i bought these 2 after I turned my tank to planted.Now i am thinking about changing it to a potted tank since its way cleaner and it will probably help those 2 young boys get bigger.Whats ur opinion on that?And if i do change the tank what kind of pots do i use?Plastic or ceramic?Sorry for my bad english

I forgot to add that my nitrates are always below 5
