Attached are some pictures. This discus stopped eating and was being bullied a lot by the other discus in my tank. He began hiding out in the corner. A week or so later his stomach started to blow up, its doubled in size in two days. He is completely off balance, head standing, spinning upside down and looks very lethargic. No longer eating. I pulled him out yesterday and placed in my quarantine with a tablespoon of epsom salt per 10 gallons. Should I treat with metro eventually or wait a few days to see how the epsom salt works. I am worried that its bacterial.

120 gallon tank, 7 other discus.

0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, low nitrate

84 degrees

Lots of bullying and territory battles, going to try to re arrange driftwood

All other discus eating well and looks normal.

Been checking on him all day and there was no progression since the addition of epsom salt, just went to check before bed and he died. Seems to have been too late and probably the wrong treatment.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that he died! Such a pretty fish too. =(

Sorry to hear, its not that it wasn't the right treatment. It may have been too late and not enough epsom salt. Epsom salt is petty easy on the fish, you can use 3 tablespoons per 10 gallons if need be. In this case, it may have been a bacteria issue, where Kanamycin might have been helpful.
