Getting new fish

I am getting new fish from Kenny this week. I have 2 discus already and he suggested that I put them in a smaller tank for a while. I also told him I have 6 rummy noses. Should I leave them in my tank my new fish are going in or should I put them in the smaller 29gal with the 2 discus i already have?

Also is there anything special I should do to the tank other than wipe it down and do a really good cleaning and a 100% H2O change?

New fish should be quarantined and the tank size would depend on the size of fish you plan to put in it. As for sterilizing the tank, unless, your tank and filter were seeded by using fishless cycle, you will have some degree of contamination from whatever fish were in it before.
