Hi Everyone,

I would like to know which one do you use for hardness ( GH/ KH ) test kits?

Hagen or API or others?

What is your experience about the hardness test kits.

Thank you

Duncan

Get yourself a TDS meter and be done with it. Hardness test kits are a PITA.

In all seriousness I tried APIs kit but I could not see the color change. Here is the TDS meter I use http://www.amazon.com/HM-Digital-Pocket-TDS-4-Quality/dp/B0002T6L5M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1337055492&sr=8-1

Make sure to get TDS calibration solution so you know your meter is accurate and stays accurate.

TDS meter is definitely the way to go! :)
you can test pH too, if needed (that's not as much of a "PITA" as hardness test kits LOLOLOL)

LAMO.... That is so funny.

Actually I have TDS meter and conductivity meter.. Main reason is I was looking for measure for GH and KH... I believe that the conductivity meter can figured out for DH as GH and KH. I have not to do research about it but I will do.

I would not worry about PH because I know the ph is always lower than 7.0 PH.

When I would have lot of babies discus, I would like to add crushed coral to make ph high and the ph makes stable for longer.
