Romann, have you tried to measure your water parameters? Welcome to Simply BTW.

Could you please retest the nitrate? You generally always have measurable nitrates. Also know what your TDS is? Also how are your discus eating and behaving? There are other reasons for non-breeding beside water. Could be conditioning, types of foods, only have one gender etc.

Romann, how old are your fish? You may not being patience enough, meaning the fish have to learn how to be parents and rarely get it right the first, second or even tenth time.

Romann, let me tell you a story. I bought two Cuipeua cross females from Kenny and they both paired up with wild males. I had these fish in my tap water with a TDS of 233. Both pairs produced eggs and ate the eggs for six months. I received an RO unit for Christmas last year and started to transition all my tanks to an RO/tap mix. Once the TDS reached 80 in the tank with the Cuipeua cross females they quit eating their eggs and suddenly had wigglers. This is why I asked what your TDS is. Your situation may not be this simple but it could be. Or it could be that your pair need more practice.

A TDS meter will be most helpful :) or you could give them some time.

its funny in my community tank the eggs always hatch and when they free swimming gone, thats mean the water is good for them.ok in the breeder tank i though the water was perfect because is very soft 0 ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, kh low ,ph 6.2 i was wrong than.

I have actually seen a few Ace hardware stores now carrying TDS meters. They are near the water filters.
