Can anyone tell me how they clean out their python? If I've had a tank that is sick - isn't it possible that my python could carry pathogens? If I never clean the python, maybe I would just reintroduce diseases the next WC.

So yeah. How do you care for you Python to make sure it's always sanitary?

I've put mine in my aging barrel with PP in it to a dk purple almost black and let it soak for 24hrs. Rinse and then put back in barrel.. cover with water, add a couple capfuls of H2O2.. and rinse.

Somtimes I take a 5gal bucket and pour some bleach it and suck it thru. Not all have the luxury, but I also keep a seperate hose just for sick.

Greatest thread title ever...

(I don't clean my water changer but you can buy hose brushes and soak it in pp once in a while)

Lol I didn't even think about it but that's hilarious.

+1 to Bill's comment, I just keep a separate sick/medication system, and that one I clean with PP often. (I can give you some PP on Wednesday Rachel)

I use PP to clean everything, i'm not saying its necessary but if your going to clean with something anyway why not use PP? A lot of us USSR PP to clean out holding barrels, can you see a logical reason to not just clean your python too at the same time? Just saying.

If you don't have PP so you can use bleach . When you fill up water into a pail add bleach when your finger tip into the pail when you can feel slip that is enough amount of bleach in the pail. Put the hose with the water pump. It will run for couples of hours then you can raise it.. It will clean and 100% kill germs.

I agreed with someone said that separated equipment.

In Canada does not carry any PP.
