Hudson had a video which featured a natural stream with plants with a fairly decent current. You could go lite on the current but maybe still achieve a similar effect.

Not the video I was thinking about but maybe some ideas.

Tetras love those currents

Yeah pat, it'll be about 800 gph of flow through the tank. I have two angels in there now so I'm going to add lots more including 6 from mark.

Zach, so you are planning a current? add some wild golden tetras

Yes it has quiet a current. Enough to keep the crap on the bottom moving around so its nice. I planned to have about 40-50 tetras total, cories or something to feed on bottom but not dig, unless its in sand only, the 6 discus, and my two angels. If it doesn't look too busy after all that ill add some festivums or something of the such. I have a 29g sump and will be waterchange with ro twice a week so I'm not worried about overstocking at all.

Tunze nano stream 6015, they are very low profile and pack a lot of current, very high quality and good price.

Zach, remember the discus will need some quiet spots in the tank.

It's already got plenty, plus I have an extra vortech mp10 but I'm using that on my 18g reef. BTW pat, that thing should be running within the month. Have a mp10 for flow and its got a 8g sump with hob overflow and 189 gph coming up. 70w mh on that also with a 20k bulb just waiting on rock and sand.

I have a high current on my 150 with a tunze 6100, it turns on 3 times a day for an hour, it takes pretty much all solid waste and places it on top of the overflow into the sump, and I have two of the 6015 running on the back of the tank creating a good but not agressive flow during the rest of the time, all fish seem to be happy.

What do you guys think on the plant and fish species side. Ive got all the equipment and all figured out. Was trying to get ideas on plants and fish mainly. Got the tetras down, anything else? Pat, how about a few of those catfish you have. How big do they get?

Zach, they get about 6+ inches long but thin bodied so maybe. A couple of small pretty pleco would be my choice for a 75.

Yeah, I thought about it but they crap so much lol. I'll see, may look into some kind with yellow spots or something like that.

What do you think plant wise. I was thinking swords for sure. Probably a big amazon or two. Some crypts and dwarf sag.
